Let's put the argument to rest - at least for now.
There's a new trend going on, and it's exactly what the title says it to be.
Everyone must have taken a personality test at least once in their lives. If you haven't, personality tests are basically questionnaires that comprise of a series of questions that determine aspects and traits about your individual character.
As bizarre as it sounds, someone has actually made a Toilet Paper Personality Test.
Relationship Expert and Performance Coach Dr Gilda Carle has devised a way to ascertain key aspects of your personality based on which direction you put the toilet paper in the roller.
So how does it work?
Originally, I created the Toilet Paper Personality Test as a fun way for people to assess the behaviours they use daily, often without thinking.
I queried a random sampling of 2000 men and women, aged 18 to 75 of different ethnicities. I asked them whether they roll their toilet paper over or under. I also questioned how assertive they were in their relationships with others, on a scale of 1 to 10.
The results are quite interesting for a habit that we pay little to no attention to (well, maybe for some of us)
If you're curious about what the desired direction of your toilet paper says about who you are as a person, keep reading!
1) For the "Over" rollers...
If you roll your toilet paper over, you're considered to be more dominant than those who roll their toilet paper under - something that's considered to be a Type-A personality.
So what does this mean?
You're much more assertive in nature than the under-rollers, and you like to take charge of projects, tasks, or anything that comes at you.
So if you find yourself compulsively switching the way a toilet paper is rolled at a house that isn't yours, you know why.

2) And for you "Under" rollers...
Yep, you guessed it.
Under rollers are people who appear more submissively - a Type-B personality. You're carefree, creative and often considered one of the dependable folks in the group.
While you may not inherit some of the traits from a Type-A personality, only 30% of people prefer their toilet paper under - so you're pretty damn unique, if you ask us.

3) And if you don't care AT ALL...
You're probably the person who just wants the toilet paper to roll smoothly and look neat.
While the test was a fun and humorous experiment that will definitely spark conversation, Carle suggests that it may give insight to about your future compatibility with other people.
Interesting, right? There's psychology everywhere - even in the little daily routines we perform everyday - that allows us to understand more about who we are and the traits we carry as unique individuals.
So, now you know!
However, whether you roll your toilet paper over or you roll it under - just make sure you don't leave the roll empty (please).
